Main Payload Forward Experiment

University of New Hampshire Instrumentation:

  • Racetrack Magnetometer: New design!
  • Ultraviolet Photomultiplier Tube: 130 nm peak response
  • Electron Retarding Potential Analyzer (ERPA): Thermal electrons (0 to 3 eV, 0.06 eV increments)
  • Electron Plasma Sensor (EPLAS): Measures 10 eV to 15 keV energy range and pitch angle
  • Dartmouth College Instrumentation:

  • BEEPS-T: Thermal O+ and H+ (0.1 to 20 eV)
  • HEEPS-M: Mid energy ions (7-800 eV)
  • HEEPS-T: Thermal ions (0.1 to 20 eV)
  • Cornell University Instrumentation:

  • Science Magnetometer
  • Aerospace Instrumentation:

  • Photomultiplier Tube: 391, 630 and 844 nm passbands
