ACES

Principal Investigator: Scott Bounds

Auroral Current and Electrodynamics Structure (ACES) launched from Poker Flat Research Range on January 29, 2009 to take measurements within a stable auroral arc just north of Fort Yukon, AK.  Measurements were also taken using ground radars.  ACES consisted of two payloads, a high flyer and a low flyer, launched one minute apart to be magnetically conjugate (on the same magnetic field line) at apogee.  Both payloads were instrumented to measure waves, particles, and plasma parameters.
